An Early Christmas Gift- By Sadie

Sadie has written about her experience in handing out Christmas cards to people around the town. But these aren't normal Christmas cards, but ones that have the gospel on them. She has split her story into three sections, so read below to find out more!

What did I do?

I passed out Christian Christmas cards with the gospel message on the back in downtown Glendora with my friends.

Why we did it?

I started thinking about eternity in Heaven with Jesus. I was thinking about how it's going to be forever, and it blew my mind away because it's so amazing that we'll have fellowship with God, our family, and friends forever! I also thought about Hell and how horrible it would be to be separated from God forever!

It's so easy to get caught up in my own life that I can forget that other people can be having a hard time and are looking for hope. Sadly, they're looking for hope in other things. They're not going to find it unless they ask Jesus into their lives. I want to share the same hope that I have in Christ, with people because true joy comes from God and nothing else! They can own everything and it can feel so empty!

When I know God's telling me to do something, I can get really nervous. My heart starts pounding because I'm thinking of all kinds of scenarios of what might happen. Such as, "Are they going to laugh at me? What are they going to think of me? Are they going to be rude to me? Are they going to just walk away?"

If people do any of these things, and if we only get to share a little bit, that's okay. A seed can be planted, and God can use that big time, even though you may not see it right away. It can do a lot for that person you shared with! When I get nervous to share, I think of eternity with Jesus, and I also think of eternity in Hell. When God reminds me of that, it helps me not be nervous anymore because it's for the persons own good.

When I was younger, my junior high pastor said, "If anybody is on the road to Hell, stand in the way of them and keep standing there. And pray for them!"

Why I liked doing it?

When I say yes to God and know I did what He wanted me to do, I feel blessed because God says to store up your treasures in Heaven where thieves and moths can't destroy (Matthew 6:19-20).

Every single time you share Jesus with somebody, you're storing up your treasures in Heaven. Not that you do it for your own benefit, but you're doing it for our mighty God and His glorious Kingdom. It makes me happy to know that the person I shared with might be in Heaven with me one day.

When I look back, I can see God's amazing power! I don't regret sharing because I know that's what He wanted me to do, and it makes me so joyful! He's the One that helped me do it. It's all Him! When I try doing things in my own strength, it's impossible. But with God, all things are possible! He makes it so easy when I rely on Him. I've realized that all I have to do is open my mouth and the Holy spirit will help guide me in what to say, but of course pray first. I pray for the Holy Spirit to cancel me out and let it be His words through me.

When we say yes to God, we don't have regret when we look back. Instead of regret, we feel awesome knowing that we got to be a part of God's plan and purpose for which He created us. Sharing Jesus with others results in confidence in God and it builds our faith. It is an honor that the King of Heaven wants to use us to share the gospel message. We're the hands and feet of Christ. We all have different gifts we can use for Him. Don't let the enemy discourage you. God is so powerful! He is greater! God will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Thank you for reading! And I think we all thank you Sadie for sharing with us. This was truly an incredible experience, and you made me want to go out and share the gospel.
