Can I Pray for You?

There are so many ways you can share the gospel with someone, but one of my favorite ways is not so much as delivering a gospel speech as it is making the person, I am speaking to feel cared about. The question is simple. "Is there some way I can pray for you this week?"
We are living in a very selfish world, and honestly, people care very little about the trials other people are going through. But they should. Trials are often when people are the most willing to listen to us tell about our God. One of my biggest concerns is putting people off right away and causing them to build up defenses against us and God. That is why I like asking people if I can pray for them, it usually does none of those things.

This question immediately makes them realize that someone actually cares about their welfare, whether they are doing good or not. Besides us having concern for them, we are showing them that God cares even more. After you are done asking the question, and hearing them out, it is usually a good time to hand them a gospel tract. They have just been honest with you and realized someone cares about them, so they are more willing to want to know the God who cares.
If you are afraid to ask, I was too. Honestly, the first time I asked, I debated with myself for at least thirty minutes whether to ask or just walk away. As for getting an answer, the worst they can say is no, and most of the time they do have something you can pray for, or at least say yes you can pray for them. I have asked this question many times, and I have only been told no once. No matter what, you have put yourself out there and perhaps planted a seed of God in their hearts.

This is so true, and you never know where the conversation will lead to once you ask even the simplest of questions. ☺️
